Old Wax Seal
Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Effects, Goodies
Let’s create an old wax seal using the ((Pen Tool)) and some ((Layer Styles)).
Open a new document (640×480 and white background).
Select ((Pen Tool)) and make a trace as the one shown below.
Fill it in with color c51f1f.
Make a circular selection in the center of the seal with ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) and press delete. It should look like this.
Fill in the ((new layer)) with color c51f1f, keeping the circular selection active.
Now go to the ring layer and apply ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Blending Options)).
Afterwards, it will look like this.
Now go to the layer with the circle and apply ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Blending Options)).
Below you will be able to see how these ((Layer Styles)) look applied on an image.
Go back to the layer with the ring. Double click to go to ((Blending Options)). Select ((Drop Shadow)) and ((Outer Glow)) and enter the values that appear below.
Now, let’s add a brand to the seal. Select ((Shape Tool)) and choose a default Photoshop shape. Remember to fill it in with the same color you used before (c51f1f).
Apply ((Layer Styles)) al ((Shape)). Go to ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Blending Options)).
Our antique seal is now ready!
You can play and crate a background in order to make it mor realistic. I downloaded this wallpaper (http://mourningstocks.deviantart.com/art/Old-Paper-1-22865437), applied ((Layer Styles)), and got this result.
