Great Spotlights

Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Effects, Various

We will create great, big spotlights focused in a point, which means we will rotate and give perspective to the spotlights.

Create a new document, 800×450px, and black background.

Create a ((new layer)).

Apply a linear gradient from side to side using 3 or 4 colors, and reduce the ((opacity)) to 25%.

Create another ((new layer)).

With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), create a white circle with the size that appears below. Duplicate the layers until you create a row consisting in 8 circles, divided in 4.

Select all the lights you just created and rasterize them until you have only one layer.

Now apply some detains to the left and right areas of the lights. Duplicate the light layers 2 times, place the first one to the lefts and the other one to the right as shown in the image below. These 2 layers, place them below the first one. Select ((Erase Tool)) and erase the central area of the 2 duplicated layers, just leave the leftovers. Then reduce the ((opacity)) to 10%.

Duplicate the first layer (the one you can 100% see) and place it below. With ((Erase Tool)), hardness: 0%, erase to generate a reflection effect.

Duplicate the visible layer, reduce it with ((Free Transform)) or Ctrl + T and go to ((Edit))-((Transform))((Skew)). Look for the perspective you see below.

Duplicate the first layer, reduce it just like the other one, and apply ((Skew)) again. Take a look at the following image.

Duplicate the 2 layers you applied ((Skew)) to, and go to ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Flip Horizontal)).

Duplicate the lower right light and, with Ctrl + T, rotate it so that it looks like a reflection.

Duplicate the layer and go to ((Edit))((Transform))((Flip Vertical)).

Let’s make the reflections look more real. With ((Erase Tool)), hardness: 0%, and erase the ower parts of the reflections.

Stand in the first layer, the lights that are in front of us, and go to ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Outer Glow)).

Result:

Very good!!! You are done with this great tutorial. Now you can add a graphic, or an image in the center pf the spotlights.
