Embroidered Text

We will create a text embroidered in a sheet. We will use a brush to recreate the embroidering and a ((Pattern)) for the sheet.

Open a new document, 800×400px, and white background.

First, you will click the layer to unlock it. A banner will pop up, click Ok. Double click the layer to open the ((Blending Options)) window, select ((Pattern Overlay)). In this menu, select the type ((Pattern)). A window with different patterns will drop down; don’t select anyone yet. You will see that to the right upper side there is a small arrow; click it and select ((Pattern 2)) from the drop down menu, finally, choose the one that appears in the remark below.

Correct Pattern.

Write the text you will apply the effect to. Download the font by clicking HERE.

Once you have written the text you will need to create the contours. Ctrl + Click the text layer, then right click the text and choose ((Create Work Path)).

Create a ((new layer)).

Now it’s time to create the embroidering. First, download this ((Brush)) clicking HERE.

OnceĀ  installed, go to ((Window))-((Brushes)). In general, the new brushes are located in the bottom of the list. In ((Brush Tip Shape)), select the one that looks like a “V” and enter the values that appear in the image below.

In ((Shape Dynamics)), enter the following values.

Before going on, make sure that ((Pen Tool)) is selected and white is the foreground color.

Create a ((new layer)). From now on, work on it.

Go to ((Paths)) or ((Window))-((Paths)) and press ((Stroke Path))

Do you see this? Great! Let’s go on.

Double click the layer to open ((Blending Options)). Enter this values.

Drop Shadow.

Bevel and Emboss.

Create a ((New Adjust Layer)) of ((Hue/Saturation)) between the background nlayer and the text layer, to modify the color of the sheet. Apply the values that appear below.

Finally, reduce the text layer ((Fill)) to 85% and reduce the ((opacidad)) to the layer you applied the embroiderings, to 70%.
