Dirty Texture

Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Effects, Various

“Dirty Texture”. In the designer’s world, the word “dirty” doesn’t sound good at all.  This time, we are going to make an exception. As the title indicates, we will create a dirty texture. You will notice that this tutorial has really good results.

Open a new document, 1024×768px.

Press D to reset the colors to black and white.

Go to ((Filter))-((Render))-((Clouds)).

Then ((Filter))-((Noise))-((Add Noise)).

((Filter))-((Stylize))-((Emboss)) and take a look at the following image where I placed the values.

Now apply ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Diffuse Glow)).

Then go to ((Filter))-((Artistic))-((Palette Knife)).

((Filter))-((Texture))-((Texturizer)). Take a look at the values I placed in the following image. Pay attention to the ((filters)) in the images below. It should be looking like this:

In order to finish the texture, apply ((Filter))-((Noise))-((Add Noise)) again.

We will increase the ((contrast)). ((Image))-((Adjustment))-((Contrast)). Below you will see the exact values.

Finally, create a ((new layer)), fill it in with color 1285d6. Change the layer style to ((Multiply)). In the following image you will see re results after you proceed with the last step.

This result wasn’t enough and applied a ((Brush)) with dirty rays of light. You can download them at www.deviantart.com. If you don’t know how to install them, look for the tutorial “Installing Brush in Photoshop”, which is available in our website.
