Creating Animal Eye
Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Effects, Goodies
There are hundreds of tutorials showing you how to create human eyes over the Internet and, to tell you the truth, I’m tired of seeing them. Today, I bring you this tutorial, which will show you how to create an animal eye. This will be the eye that is commonly found in reptiles, such as snakes, frogs, birds, and so on. I hope you like it.
Open a new document, 400×300px, and white background.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) and Alt + Shift (so that it grows proportionally from the center), create a circular selection.
Fill it in with #9a6a35.
With the selection still active, go to ((Filter))-((Noise))-((Add Noise)).
Don’t deselect yet.
Go to ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Radial Blur)).
With the eye selection active, create a ((New Layer)).
Then go to ((Edit))-((Stroke)). Use this color: #9a6a35.
Double click the eye layer to open theĀ ((Blending Options)) window.
((Outer Glow)).
((Inner Glow)).
((Bevel and Emboss)).
((Stroke)).
After applying these Layer Styles, you should have these results.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Pen Tool)), trace the inner side of the eye, and fill it in with black.
Double click the layer to apply ((Blending Options)).
((Outer Glow)).
((Bevel and Emboss)).
Final result.
