Breakage in a Photography
Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Effects, In Photos
Choose the photograph of a person you don’t really like and create a torn effect on his face. Let me tell you that I have no problem with the lady in the picture; it’s that she won the prize to appear in the tutorial : )
Open the image.
You just need to unlock the image’s layer by double cliking it, then press Ok.
Proceed to create a ((new layer)), fill it in with white and place it underneath.
On the photograph’s layer and with ((polygonal lazo tool)), trace the area where the breakage will be, once the selection is activated, eliminate it. It should look like the following image shows.
With the ((herramienta pluma)) we will create the photograph paper effect (for this step, I recommend you to work with a high zoom).
Rasterize the layer in order to work in it, no as a mask: ((Layer))-((Rasterize))-((Layer)).
Double click it so that the ((Blending Options)) window opens. Then go to ((Drop Shadow)) and deselect the ((Use Global Light)) option. By doing this, whenever you change the shadow location, it doesn’t change in the other ones. Arrange the shadow in the outer side of the breakage.
Now ((Inner Shadow)).
After applying it, select ((brush tool)), dark grey, medium size, and select the active layer (Ctrl + Click the layer), paint the inferior area of the breakage so that you create more shadow and the folded effect.
Repeat the breakage throughout the entire photograph until you have something like this.
