Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Effects, Goodies
I will now show you how to create tentacles on a wall, splashed with blood. We will use a brush to draw the blood stains. In the tutorial, you will find a link where you will be able to download the brush from.
Open a new document (300×300px and transparent background).
To begin, download the wall texture by clicking this link.
Open the texture, copy it (Ctrl + C), and paste it into the new document (Ctrl + V).
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Rectangle Tool)), draw a black thick line as shown in the following image. Ctrl + Click the layer in order to activate the selection.
Create a ((New Layer)) and fill it in with white.
Don’t deselect yet.
Standing in the rectangle layer, apply ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Gaussean Blur)).
Now press Ctrl + E to unify the layers.
Press (Ctrl + T) to ((Free Transform)). Then right-click and a drop-down menu will appear. Choose the option ((Distort)). Drag the inferior sliders towards the center. Take a look at the image below.
Go to ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Shear)). Try to imitate the graphic that appears below.
After applying this filter, this will be the result.
Then ((Filter))-((Artistic))-((Plastic Wrap)). Use the values that appear below.
Double-click the layer, select ((Drop Shadow)) and apply the following values.
What you have to do right now is to duplicate the layer with the tentacles and apply a different variation of the ((Shear)) filter.
Here comes the funny part. Download this brush: brush. Install it and so the following.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Choose #a2171a as the front color.
Using the Brush with the blood stains, paint some stains on the tentacles (remember you need to pain in the new layer).
