Antique Photograph Technique

Tutorial in Advanced, Effects

As the title points out, we will apply this technique to a digital image. I would say it is a style mostly used in the 70s and 80s.

To begin, let’s open the image you want to apply the effect to.

Go to ((Image))-((Adjustments))-((Brightness/Contrast)) and use the values that appear below.

Now apply ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Surface Blur)). Take a look at the values below.

Click on the layer and press Ctrl + U.

Go to ((Layer))-((New adjustment layer))-((Gradient Map)).

The ((Gradient Map)) window will pop up. Choose ((Color Harmonies1)) and the gradient that appears below. (Red, blue, yellow).

If you followed the steps properly, you should have something like this.

Press Ctrl + M to open the ((curves)) window.
((Channel)): Red

((Channel)): RGB

Go to ((Image))-((Adjustments))-((Channel Mixer)).

Press Ctrl+B to open ((Color Balance)).

After you follow the steps, you should get these results: an antique technique effect.
