3D Rings
Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Effects, Goodies
This is a great tutorial from which you will learn to create 3D rings. We will use some filters like ((Color Halftone)), ((Polar Coordinates)), and ((Motion Blur)).
Open a new document (600×600px and white background).
Select ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), ((Fixed Size)), ((height)): 100px y ((weight)): 600px. Click the document so that it creates a selection with the size you asigned. Place it in the bottom side of the document.
Fill it in with color #9c0403.
Create another selection. This time, use ((height)): 50px and ((weight)): 600px over the other. Fill in this selection with color #ff0200.
Again, create a selection using these values: ((height)): 75px y ((weight)): 600px. Place it in the middle of the other two sections (take a look at the image below). Press Ctrl + J to copy the marked part.
On the new layer apply ((Filter))-((Pixelate))-((Color Halftone)). Check out the colors I used in the following image.
Change the layer style to ((Multiply)).
Press Ctrl + E to unite the layers.
Deselect (Ctrl + D).
Draw a selection that occupies the whole draw except for the white area.
Go to ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Motion Blur)).
Now you will make it look like an actual ring. ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Polar Coordinates)). Choose ((Polar To Rectangular)).
With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), and pressing ans holding Alt + Shift, draw a selection that occupies the whole ring.
Press Ctrl + J to duplicate the layer and send the selection to the other layer.
With ((Magic Wand Tool)), select the white area and press ((Delete))
Create a ((capa nueva)) and send it to the back, behind the ring layer.
Choose red as the front color, and black as background. Go to the ((new layer)), then go to ((Gradient Tool)), ((Radial Gradient)) and trace a gradient as the one that appears in the image below.
Double click the ring layer and go to ((Blending Options)).
((Bevel and Emboss)).
This is my result.
