Crystal Button to be Used in Flash

We will design a professional Flash button to be used in Flash. Then you will be able to modify the colors or textures of the button whenever you place the mouse over it.

Open a new document, 500×400px, and transparent background.

To begin, create a vertical gradient from grey to white.

Create a ((new layer)).

With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), create a square and fill it in with color 016cbc.

Ctrl + Click the layer to activate the square selection.

Now ((Select))-((Modify))-((Contract)), value: 5px.

Create a ((New layer)).

Trace a gradient from white to transparent, from top to bottom.

Create a ((new layer)).

With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) draw a circumference (take a look at the image below) and, pressing Alt + Ctrl + Shift, you will see a selection as the one that appears in the following image.

Then trace the same gradient you traced in the previous step (white to transparent and from top to bottom). If it looks too clear, lower the opacity.

Select ((Shape Tool)), choose the envelope image, white; this will be a “Contact” button.

Finally, write the text to the button. (Tahoma, Bold, Size: 11px).

To the text layer apply ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Blending Options)), select ((Drop Shadow)).
