Metallic Button
Tutorial in Advanced, Drawing, Web
Let’s create a high quality metallic button.
Open a new document (300×400px and white background).
Create a ((New Layer)).
Select ((Rectangle Rounded Tool)), with the values I point out in the following image and draw the button.
Double-click the layer with the button in order to open the ((Blending Options)).
((Drop Shadow)).
((Inner Shadow)).
((Gradient Overlay)). Use the following colors: #9c9c9c and #ffffff.
((Stroke)). Make sure you apply the gradient just like it’s shown in the following image.
Save the changes and it will look like this.
Select the font ((Georgia)) and write the title of the button in capital letters.
Standing in the text layer, go to ((Filter))-((Layer))-((Layer Styles)).
((Outer Glow)).
((Gradient Overlay)). Use this grey: #a7a7a7.
This will be the result after you save the changes:
Ctrl + Click the layer in order to activate the selection. With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), ((Subtract From Selection)), reduce the button to half. Take a look at the image below, where I show you the mentioned step.
Create a ((New Layer)) and trace a linear gradient from black to transparent, and from top to bottom. Reduce the ((Opacity)) to 29%.
Final result.
