Wooden Text

Tutorial in Advanced, Designing, Effects, In Text

Let’s create a cool text effect using wooden backgrounds as textures, and then apply some ((Layer Styles)).

We will work with these 2 images.

Use this image as the background. Click HERE to download it.

Use the other one as the text layer. You can download it from HERE.

Open a new document, 750×550px, and transparent background.

Add the image as the background.

Go to ((Filter))-((Renders))-((Lens Flare)).

After applying ((Lens Flare)), our background will look like this.

Press Ctrl + U to edit ((Hue/Saturation)).

Now write the text, do it with a big size. Download the font I used for this tutorial by clicking HERE.

In a superior layer, I added the other textures I enabled for you to download.

Ctrl + Click the text layer to activate the selection.

Take a look at the following image.

Click the button ((New Layer Mask)) (pointed with a red arrow in the following image).

Double click the texture layer to apply ((Blending Option)).

((Inner Glow)).

((Bevel and Emboss)).

After applying those Layer Styles, you wil get the following image.

Press Ctrl + Click the layer to activate the selection, again.

Then go to ((Select))-((Modify))-((Contract)). (6px).

Create a ((New Layer)) and place it in the middle of the texture and the text layer (take a look at the image below).

With the expanded selection active, fill in the new layer with white.

Double click the layer and apply the following ((Blending Options)).

((Inner Glow)).

((Bevel and Emboss)).

You will see this result.

Modify the layer style to ((Screen)).

Well, this is the final result, I hope you liked it.
