Oceanic Bottom Effect

Tutorial in Advanced, Designing, Drawing, Effects, Goodies

This is an impressing oceanic bottom Photoshop effect. The most amazing thing about it is that you will be able to create it in ten minutes. You will use filters such as: ((Plastic Wrap)) and ((Clouds)), and some layer style.

Open a new document (400×600px and transparent background).

Choose #3960a3 as the main color and #07163f as secondary.

Select ((Gradient Tool)), linear, and the gradient with the colors you just chose.

Trace the gradient line from top to bottom.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Brush Tool)), color #3960a3, ((Hardness)): 15%. With those values, paint the lower area of the document. This will be the sun rays reflected through the ocean water. Observe the said step in the following image.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Press D to reset the color palette.

With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), draw a rectangle like the one that appears below. Then go to ((Filter))-((Render))-((Clouds)).

On the rectangle, apply ((Filter))-((Artistic))-((Plastic Wrap)). Introduce the values that appear below.

After you do so, it will look like this.

Press Ctrl + T -((Free Transform)) and reduce the layer (vertically) to a 15% of the document.

Then apply ((Filter))-((Render))-((Lighting Effects)).

It should look like this.

Let’s soften the layer’s contour. Select ((Brush Tool)) and enter the values that appear in the image below.

Now change the layer style to ((Linear Dodge)) and reduce the ((Fill)) to 50%.

Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J) and go to ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Flip Vertical)).

Place the newest layer to the lower area of the document. Change the layer style to ((Screen)) reduce the  ((Fill)) to 30%.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Choose #f5ffco as the main color.

With this brush (which I enable you to  download), select ((Brush Tool)), and a style named “Burst_Half2″. Apply the sun rays effect.

Reduce the ((Fill)) to 30%.

Our oceanic bottom is done!.
