Creating a Balance

You will learn to design a digital balance with a very realistic result. In order to create it, you will use ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), ((Layer Styles)), and the key tools: ((Dodgle Tool)) and ((Burn Tool)). You will then see why those are the key tools.
Open a new document (400×400px and white background).
Select ((Pen Tool)) and draw the balance contour.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Press Ctrl + Enter to transform the trace into selection.
Fill in the selection with color #ececec.
Deselect (Ctrl + D).
Now select ((Burn Tool)), ((Shadows)), and draw the following shades.
Selct ((Pen Tool)) again and draw a selection as the one that appears below.
With ((Dodgle Tool)), ((Highlights)), apply some shines on the selection.
Double click the layer to go to ((Layer Styles)) and apply ((Drop Shadow)).
Select ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) and press and hold Alt to draw a circle as the one that you see below.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Fill in the selection with #ececec.
Then with ((Dodge Tool)), ((Highlights)), apply some shines on the inferior borders of the circle.
Double click the layer to apply ((Drop Shadow)).
Draw another circular selection as the one that apears below and then ((Select))-((Inverse)), to invert the selection.
Now with ((Burn Tool)), ((Shadows)), apply some shades between the borders of the selection and the first circle. Take a look at the following image.
Go to ((Select))-((Inverse)) and apply the shadows inside the selection.
Select ((Pen Tool)) and draw the following selection.
Press Ctrl + Enter to activate the selection.
Create a ((New Layer)) and fill it in with #888593.
Now with ((Dodge Tool)), ((Highlights)), apply some small brightnesses to the right area.
Double click the layer to apply ((Drop Shadow)).
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Polygonal Lazo Tool)), draw a rectangular selection where the dollar sign will go.
Fill it in with #aaa8b9.
Double click the layer to apply ((Inner Shadow)).
Finally, draw the buttons and write the text.
In a new layer, draw a red button.
Apply ((Drop Shadow)).
Repeat the last 2 steps with a blue button.
Finally, write something in the buttons and in the balance display.
