Tutorial in Advanced, Designing, Drawing, Effects, Goodies
We will learn to create a realistic effect. It’s about a burned paper. We will use ((Brush Tool)) and we will modify the layer styles.
First, open the background image. Choose the texture of a wooden table. You can download it by clicking here.
Create a ((new layer)).
With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), create the paper selection. Fill it in with white.
Double click the layer to go to ((Blending Options)).
((Outer Glow)).
With ((Polygonal Lazo Tool)), let’s create the burned paper’s edges.
Press ((Delete)).
Ctrl + Click the paper layer to activate the selection.
IMPORTANT: from now on, work with the selection active.
Create a ((nueva capa)).
With ((Brush Tool)), 100px, ((Hardness)): 10%, and color #d99e37, paint the burned edge.
Create another ((new layer)).
Use the same brush, same size, but black color, and ((Hardness)): 40%. Paint the edges again.
Create another ((new layer)).
Change the ((Brush Tool)) size to 200px, ((Hardness)): 0%. Paint inside the paper with black; take a look at the procedure in the following image.
Change the layer mode to ((Overlay)).
This is my result, so far.
