We will design an icon which you will be able to use as a button, an icon, or even as a mark. It is a clean design to be used in websites, and it has a high quality design.
Open a new document, 400×400px, with black background.
Select ((Ellipse Tool)) and draw a blue circle.
Then with ((Rounded Rectangle Tool)), draw a square, radius: 4px, and make it fit with 2 of the circle edges, just as you can see in the image below. Merge the background layer invisible by clicking the eye next to it then go to ((Layer))-((Merge Visible)).
Now apply some ((Layer Styles)). Go to ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Blending Options)).
It should look like this, so far.
Duplicate the layer, fill the object with black, reduce it proportionally, and eliminate the styles; we will apply some different ones.
Observe how it should look.
Create a ((new layer)).
The last step will consist on selecting ((Shape Tool)), choosing the magnifying glass shape, and choosing dark blue as the foreground color.
