Wooden Texture
Tutorial in Basics, Effects, Goodies
Want to know how to create a wooden texture in Photoshop? The answer is here. Simply use the filters: ((Noise)), ((Motion Blur)), ((Wave)), ((Unsharp Mask)), ((Hue/Saturation)).
Open a new document (400×400 and white background).
Apply ((Filter))-((Noise))-((Add Noise)).
Now apply ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Motion Blur)).
now go on with ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Wave)).
Now ((Filter))-((Sharpen))-((Unsharp Mask)).
Press Ctrl + U to open the ((Hue/Saturation)) window in order to colorize the texture. Check mark ((Colorize)) and enter the values that appear below.
Let’s make the texture look more real.
Use ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)) to draw a rectangular selection. Then ((Select))-((Modify))-((Feather)).
With the selection active go to ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Wave)). Check out the values that I used below.
Create another rectangular selecion and repeat the last two steps, but this time in the inferior area of the texture.
We are done with the wooden texture. I hope this tutorial is of good help.
This was my result:
