Web 2.0 Reflected Text (Vista Style)
Tutorial in Basics, Effects, In Text, Web
This is one of the many Web 2.0 themed effects. It’s about a text effect, with a Vista style.
Open a new document (400×300px and white background).
Select the Impact font and write the text.
Now apply some Layer Styles. Go to ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Gradient Overlay)).
The colors I used from left to right were: #121212 / #454545 / #000000 / #4c4c4c / #676767 / #4c4c4c.
This will be the result.
Duplicate the text layer pressing Ctrl + J.
Then, right click the duplicated layer’s name and select ((Rasterize Type)).
Right click again and select “Convert To Smart Object”.
Right click again, select “Rasterize Layer”.
Now go to ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Flip Vertical)). Arrange it next to the oroginal text. Take a look at the image below.
Select ((Erase Tool)) with the following values, and erase the inverted layer until you get the reflection effect.
Well, this is the result.
