Using Transform Tool in Photoshop

Tutorial in Basics

For those who still don’t know, I will show you how to use one of the most used, and most easy to use as well, of Photoshop. You will be able to use it to scale, rotate, create perspectives, and deform graphics.

There are two ways of finding the tool.

1-Going to menu ((Edit))-((Transform)).

2- Pressing Ctrl + T and right clicking the graphic.

Something very important about this tool, is that you are also able to transform graphics proportionally. For instance, when reducing an image, if you press Shift while doing it, the image will be reduced proportionally. You will also be able to reduce proportionally from the center, by pressing and holding Alt + Shift.

The following are some of the different ways of transforming images:

  • SCALE:

Proportionally: ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Scale)) and keeping Shift pressed.

Proportionally from the bottom: ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Scale)) and keeping Alt + Shift pressed.

  • ROTATE:

Stand outside of the image, exactly, outside the corners of the graphic and, clicking and holding, move it to the left or right, depending on the direction you want to rotate it to.

  • SKEW:

  • DISTORT:

  • PERSPECTIVE:

  • WARP:
