Text with Metalised Countours
Tutorial in Basics, Effects, In Text
This is a funny tutorial, which will show you how to create a text with metalised contours. You will be able to choose the final color, so you can try until you get best results.
Open a new document (800×400px and transparent background).
Write the text with Arial Black.
Ctrl + Click the layer to activate the text layer.
Create a ((new layer)).
Go to ((Edit))-((Stroke)) and enter the values I placed below.
Ctrl + Click the ((new layer)), were the contour is.
With the selection active, select ((Gradient Tool)) and trace a linear gradient from white to black and top to bottom. See how it looks in the image below.
Go to ((Edit))-((Stroke)) and enter the following values.
The metallic look will be created by modifying the ((Curves)). ((Image))-((Adjustments))-((Curves)). Take a look at the changes I made in the graphic below and do the same in your document.
This is how it will look after you have changed the ((curves)).
Stand in the original text layer and go to ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Gradient Overlay)). Choose the gradient you consider more appropriate. I choose the one that appears below.
Final result!
