Puzzle Pieces Effect
Tutorial in Basics, Drawing, Effects, Goodies
I don’t really know how to define this tutorial, but what we will do is is to unite 4 puzzle pieces and apply some sort of effect using ((Layer Styles)) like ((Drop Shadow)), ((Inner Glow)), and ((Bevel and Emboss)).
Open a new image, 640×480px, and black background.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Choose white as the foreground color.
Select ((Shape Tool)) and choose the 4 puzzle pieces that Photoshop has by default. So click the drop down list so that you see the shapes.
Apply this image first.
Double click the layer to apply the following ((Layer Styles)).
((Drop Shadow)).
((Inner Glow)). Use these colors: #a2c993, #ec8b9a, #7bbddf, #f9e89a, #ec8b9a, #f9e89a, #7bbddf, and #a2c993.
((Bevel and Emboss)).
Accept the changes and the piece will look like this.
Create a ((New Layer)) and draw the following puzzle piece.
Right click the name of the layer you applied the effects to and select ((Copy Layer Styles)).
Right click again in the new puzzle piece and choose ((Paste Layer Styles)).
Repeat the same process.
In the following image you can see my result.
