Multicolor Rays Effect
Tutorial in Basics, Drawing, Web
We will learn to create an original and multicolor wallpaper. You will need to create a new brush and then apply different styles to it.
Open a new document, 800×600px, and white background.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Pen Tool)), trace a shape as shown in the image below, and fill it in with black.
Then go to ((Edit))-((Define Brush Preset)) to save this new brush.
Eliminate the shape layer because you are not going to need it anymore.
Fill in the background with black.
Choose the brush you have previously created, size 287px.
Now go to ((Windows))-((Brushes)) to make some adjustments to the brush.
((Shape Dynamics)).
((Scattering)).
((Other Dynamics)).
Select ((Pen Tool)) and trace a vertical line in the center of the document as see on the following image.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Go to ((Path)) and right click the trace name and choose ((Stroke Path)).
Select the fill ((Brush)) and accept.
Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J).
Move it a few pixels towards the left and reduce the ((Opacity)) to 50%. See the image below.
Select the 2 layers and press Ctrl + E to unify them in an independent layer.
With ((Free Transform)) (Ctrl + T), rotate it a 45º. Observe the result in the following image.
Double click the layer to go to ((Layer Styles)) and apply ((Gradient Overlay)).
For this gradient I used 5 different colors, you choose the ones you want.
Simply accept the changes and…done!
