Left-Right Navigation Bar

Tutorial in Basics, Web

Today we will learn a navigation bar with buttons from left to right. If you are new in Photoshop, go for it! You will then see how easy it is. We will use ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), and ((Layer Styles)).

To begin, download the image by clicking HERE and open it in Photoshop.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)) and draw a selection as the one you see below.

Fill it in with white.

Double click the layer to apply ((Inner Shadow)).

((Gradient Overlay)). Use these colors: #36691a and #7dba1b.

((Stroke)).

Accept the changes.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Gradient Tool)), ((Radial Gradient)) and trace a gradient from white to transparent in the left side of the button as it shows in the following image.

Change the layer style to ((Overlay)).

Ctrl + Click the layer to activate the selection.

Then, with ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), ((Subtract From Selection)), reduce half of the selection. Take a look at the following image.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Fill it in with white and reduce the ((Opacity)) to 20%.

Duplicate the button 4 more times. Then drag them all towards the ((Create a New Layer)) button and, with the duplicated layer. press Ctrl + E to unify them in an independent layer. Duplicate this layer 3 more times.

Now add the title to the buttons. I used the font Verdana.

Finally select ((Shape Tool)) and choose any shapes to apply to the buttons.
