Extracting the Silhouette of a Giraffe

You will learn how to extract the silhouette of a giraffe using ((lasso polygonal)). Afterwards, you will also be able to apply several effects to it.
Open the image.
Select ((lasso polygonal)) and trace the contour of the giraffe.
I recommend you to apply a high zoom (300-400%) so that you can easily work on the image. 
Once you unite the last point with the first one, a selection will be created.
Now you will need to separate the silhouette from the background. ((Layer))-((New))-((Layer Via Cut)). Afterwards, you will see that the giraffe appears cut in a different layer.
Unlock the background layer by double clicking it and pressing enter. Create a new layer, bring it to the background, and fill it in with white. Finally, press Ctrl + Click on the giraffe layer and activate the selection. Then ((Edit))-((Fill)) and select black.
The silhouette is ready.
