Drawing the Volkswagen logo
Tutorial in Basics, Designing, Drawing, Web
Today I will show you the way of creating the well known Volkswagen logo. To make it more perfect, I enabled an image for you to trace the V and W with ((Pen Tool)).
Open a new document, 250×250px, and white background.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), trace a circle and fill it in with color #073268.
Choose #82B2E0 as the foreground color and #012B62 as background.
Select ((Gradient Tool)), ((Radial Gradient)) to trace a gradient as seen in the following image.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), trace a selection smaller than the previous one.
Then go to ((Edit))-((Stroke)).
You need to trace the V and W. You can do it using this IMAGE as a guide and reducing its ((opacity)).
Create a ((New Layer)). Once you have traced them fill them in with white.
Select the layer you traced VW in, and press Ctrl + E to unify them in a new independent layer.
Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Drop Shadow)).
((Inner Shadow)).
((Gradient Overlay)). Use #8b8b8b to transparent.
Accept the changes.
This is the final result.
You can add some details, such as shine. You can create a selection, fill it in with white, and change the layer style to ((Soft Light)).
