Drawing the Icon of a Crown
Tutorial in Basics, Designing, Drawing, Web
Today I will show you a tutorial in which you will learn to create the icon of a shinny crown. It’s very easy! We will create the crown contour with ((Shape Tool)), ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), ((Gradient Tool)), and the other effects with ((layer Styles)), ((Gradient Overlay)), ((Stroke)), ((Inner Shadow)), ((Bevel and Emboss)).
Open a new document, 400×400px, and white background.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Choose black as the foreground color.
Select ((Shape Tool)), and from the options bar, choose the crown and draw it in the document.
Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Gradient Overlay)). Use these colors: #f4d941, #fffcc2, #c19920, #fffcc8, and #c19920.
((Stroke)) Use these colors: #f2f90d, #7f4e25, #fbfba5, #7f4e25, and #f2f90d.
Accept the changes.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) draw a circle as the one that appears below.
Then fill it in with black.
Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Inner Shadow)).
((Bevel and Emboss)).
((Gradient Overlay)). Use these colors: #f10000 and #650000.
Accept the changes.
In a ((New Layer)), ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), draw 2 small circles and fill them in with white.
Create another ((New Layer)).
With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) trace an oval inside the red ball in order to apply a linear gradient from white to transparent.
Finally, select the layers you used to create the red ball and drag them towards the ((Create a New Layer)) button, to duplicate them and spread them all around the crown points.
This is the final result.
