Drawing Realistic Label
Tutorial in Basics, Designing, Drawing
This is a very realistic effect. The good news for the newbies is that if they follow the directions, they will be able to create this great graphic.
Before starting, download this wooden texture.
Open a new document (500×400px transparent background).
Copy and paste the texture into this new document.
With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), draw the label’s contour as it shows in the following image.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Select ((Gradient Tool)) and trace a linear gradient from right to left using these colors: #6c0a00 and #9a0c03.
With ((Polygonal Lazo Tool)) trace a rectangle, cutting the lower part of the label.
Double click the label to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Drop Shadow)).
((Inner Glow)).
Accept the changes.
Let’s add some more effects.
Select ((Burn Tool)), Shadows, Exposure: 10%. Paint the label’s surface with this tool so that you give some shades.
Repeat the same step with ((Dodge Tool)), Highlights, Exposure: 50% to give the label more depth.
Duplicate the label layer. Move it 8 or 9px upwards.
Ctrl + Click the inferior layer to apply ((Image))-((Adjustments))-((Brightness/Contrast)).
You can add some words to the label. I used the font Cloister Black. If you don’t have it, click ACÁ to download it.
Once you have written the text, rotate it. Go to ((Image))-((Rotate Canvas))-((90ºCCW)).
After you have rotated it, apply ((Layer))-((Layer Style))((Drop Shadow)) with the values that appear below and…done!
This is the final result.
