Drawing Bronze Pen

We will draw the point of a bronze pen, getting very good results!!! IN order to do so, we will use ((Pen Tool)) to draw the contour, some ((Layer Styles)): ((Blending Options)), ((Gradient Overlay)), ((Inner Glow)), ((Pattern Overlay)), ((Bevel and Emboss)), layer styles, ((Line Tool)) y ((Free Transform)).

Open a new document, 300×350px, and white background.

Select ((Pen Tool)) and trace the pen contour.

Press Ctrl + Enter to transform the trace into selection.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Fill in the selection with color #ad7842.

Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Blending Options)).

((Gradient Overlay)). Use these colors: #a3a3a3, #ffffff, #626161, #acacac, and #8d8d8d.

((Inner Glow)).

((Pattern Overlay)).

Accept the changes and see the results.

Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J).

Press Ctrl + T to activate ((Free Transform)) and with Alt + Shift pressed and held, reduce the duplicated point proportionally.

Double click the layer to open ((Layer Styles)) and modify the blending mode of ((Gradient Overlay)) to ((Vivid Light)).

Leave the ((Layer Styles)) like they are.

Accept the changes.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) and draw a selection as the one that appears below.

Fill it in with black.

Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Inner Shadow)).

((Bevel and Emboss)).

Accept the changes. See the results in the following image.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Line Tool)) to trace a vertical line, 2px, black, in the center of the pen.

Change the layer mode to ((Soft Light)).

Create a ((New Layer)).

Finally, draw a small circle in the point of the pen.

Double click the layer to apply ((Gradient Overlay)). Use these colors: #ffe5da, #c1b491, #887e62, and #3f3a2d.

Finally, accept the changes to get the final result.
