Drawing a Tree
This is a basic tutorial in which you will learn to create a tree. You will have to create a brush to draw the leaves. We will use ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), ((Gradient Tool)), filters: ((Motion Blur)), ((Noise)), and ((Layer Styles)).
Open a new document, 600×600px, and transparent background.
Select ((Pen Tool)) or ((Lasso Tool)), and trace the contour of 4 or 5 leaves. Fill them in with black.
Go to ((Edit))-((Define Pattern)) and save it.
Delete this layer and create one. Fill it in with white.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), mark the grass selection and fill it in with #29c406.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), mark the remaining white area and trace, with ((Gradient Tool)), ((Lineal Gradient)), a gradient from top to bottom using #fffc00 and #76d9d4.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Polygonal Lasso Tool)), trace the trunk.
Fill in the selection with color #615809.
Duplicate the trunk layer (Ctrl + J).
Apply ((Filter))-((Noise))-((Add Noise)).
Then ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Motion Blur)).
Here comes the funny part of the tutorial.
Select the brush you created from the ((Brush Tool)) options bar.
Go to ((Window))-((Brushes)) to modify the brush style.
((Shape Dynamics))
((Scattering)).
((Color Dynamics)).
Create a ((New Layer)).
Select #6fdd2e as the foreground color, and #0f8807 as background.
Now simply paint the tree leaves.
Observe my final result in the following image.
Create a ((New Layer)).
In the Brushes set up window, modify ((Scattering)). Enter number 1 to Count.
Change the foreground color to #fffc00 and paint yellow leaves over it.
Reduce the ((Opacity)) of the yellow leaves to 70%.
Double click the trunk’s layer to apply ((Inner Shadow)).
This is how the trunk looks after applying ((Inner Shadow)).
Now stand in the grass layer and apply ((Filter))-((Noise))-((Add Noise)).
Well, this is the final result.
