Drawing a Cup of Coffee

I want to show you how to create a cup of coffee. We will use ((Pen Tool)) to draw the table contours. Then ((Layer Styles)), such as ((Drop Shadow)), ((Inner Shadow)), ((Inner Glow)), ((Outer Glow)), ((Color Overlay)), and ((Gradient Tool)).

Open a new document, 400×400px, and white background.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Pen Tool)) and trace the cup.

Press Ctrl + Enter to transform the trace into selection.

Fill in the selection with black.

Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Drop Shadow)).

((Inner Shadow)).

((Outer Glow)).

((Color Overlay)).

Accept the changes.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) and, keeping Alt pressed, draw a selection as the one you will see in the following image.

Fill in the selection with white.

Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Inner Shadow)).

((Stroke)).

Accept the changes.

Move the cup towards the left.

With ((Pen Tool)), create a trace as the one you see below.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Press Ctrl + Enter to transform the trace into selection.

Fill in the selection with black.

Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Inner Shadow)).

((Inner Glow)).

((Color Overlay)).

Accept the changes.

In case you want to add more details to the cup, change the layer style to ((Screen)).

Finally, place the cup in a wooden table. So download this TEXTURE.

Place the texture in the background. Then apply ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Perspective)) and create the perspective of the table.

Add a radial gradient behind the texture.
