Designing a Rack

Tutorial in Basics, Designing, Drawing, In Photos, Web

You will learn to create a rack in Photoshop.

Open a new document (400×600px and white background).

Create a ((New Layer)).

Choose color #1f1f1f.

With ((Rounded Rectangle Tool)), radius 6px, draw a rectangle as seen in the following image.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Zoom in to the maximum level to work better.

Now select ((Pencil Tool)), 1px, and start drawing the first “tooth” of the rack. Enlarge the image and notice that I have used 5 or 6 tones of grey to draw it.

Double click the layer to go to ((Layer Styles)).

((Gradient Overlay)).

Duplicate the tooth layer 3 times (Ctrl + J). Select the 3 layers and press Ctrl + E in order to unify them. Duplicate the unified layer again, so that you get a vertical line as the one that appears below. Now select all the layers and press Ctrl + E to unify them again. Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J).

Place the duplicated layer to the right area of the rack and go to menu ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Flip Horizontal)).

Move the layers in order to arrange them and it looks like this.

Finally, go to the black rectangle layer and go to menu ((Filter))-((Noise))-((Add Noise)).

This is the final result.
