Designing a Modern Tipographic Poster

Tutorial in Basics, Drawing, Effects, In Photos

By simply using a simple image or shape, you can create great contemporaneous designs, which can perfectly adapted to our days. A great example of what I’m talking about are those modern tipographic posters, and that is what this tutorial is all about.

First of all open the image. You can download it by clicking  here.

Apply ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Gaussean Blur)).

You will need to find a rigid texture. I enabled this texture for you to download it.

Adapt it and place it above the image.

Desaturate the image. ((Image))-((Adjustments))-((Desaturate)).

Change the texture’s blending mode to ((Soft Light)).

Select the font Helvetica Condensed Black. If you don’t have the font, click on this LINK to download it. As you can see, I will use the word “design”.

Now write the text with a large size, in the center of the document. To rotate it, go to ((Free Transform)) and pressing Ctrl + T and move it from the corners until it reaches 45º of rotation.

Then change the layer style to ((Soft Light)).

Pressing Ctrl + J, duplicate the text layer and, with ((Free Transform)), reduce it (pressing and holding shift, so that you do it proportionally).

It is important that the different words “Design” maintain the same rotation angle. The same happens to the words that have another angle of rotation.

Observe the procedure in the following image.

Once you filled in the document with words in different sizes and positions, you will be ready to say the design is done. This is my result.
