Creating Web Banner with Arrows
Tutorial in Basics, Designing, Drawing, Web
We will create a standard banner, size 468×60. The truth is that, of all the banners I’ve seen, there were a few I actually liked. That’s why I created this tutorial. We will use ((Pen Tool)), ((Layer Styles)) y ((Shapes)). I hope you like it!
Open a new document, 468×60px, and white background.
First, double click the layer to apply ((Gradient Overlay)). The colors you will use are: #670404 and #df132c.
Accept the changes,
Create a ((New Layer)).
Choose white as the foreground color.
Select ((Shape Tool)) and apply the arrow shape that appears in the options bar, located in the superior part of the document.
Double click the arrow to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Blending Options)).
((Color Overlay)).
((Stroke)).
Accept the changes.
Duplicate the arrow layer (Ctrl + J).
Now with ((Move Tool)), and Shift pressed, move the arrow by pressing the keyboard’s arrow once, this will make it move 10px towards the right.
Duplicate the layer 3 more times and place them next to each other as shown in the following image.
Then select all the arrow layers and press Ctrl + E to unify them in an independent layer.
Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J).
Go to ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Rotate 180º)) and arrange this layer to the right side of the banner.
Create a ((New Layer)).
With ((Polygonal Lazo Tool)), trace a selection as shown in the following image and then fill it in with white.
Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Gradient Overlay)). Use these colors #ff9900 and #fffa00.
Accept the changes.
Bring the arrows’ layer to the front.
Finally, write the text. I used the font Impact Regular, 48px.
Now go to ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Blending Options)).
((Gradient Overlay)).
((Stroke)).
Accept the changes and you will see this final result.
