Creating Pamphlet from an Image

Tutorial in Basics, Effects, Goodies, In Photos

I will show you to cerate a pamphlet with the perspectives and shadows of an image. To create the perspectives we will use ((Transform)), and to create the shadows, ((Burn Tool)) with a soft brush.

Before getting started, you can download the image for the pamphlet HERE.

Open a new document, 800×600px, and white background.

Paste the image into the document.

Now select ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), ((Fixed Size)), size 191×448. This is the size of each of the pamphlet’s size.

Simply click once in the document and the selection will be created automatically with the size you have selected.

Place the selection in the first part of the pamphlet.

Right click the selection and select ((Layer Via Cut)).

Repeat the previous steps for the other parts of the pamphlet. Take a look at the following image. You will see how they are separated in different layers.

Stand in the right part of the pamphlet and go to ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Perspective)).

Move the superior right slider downwards to create perspective.

Once you get the desired results, press ok.

Repeat the previous step with the central part of the pamphlet and the perspective pointing to the other side.

Finally, create the perspective in the left side of the pamphlet.

Now select ((Burn Tool)) (highlights, 15%) to create more shadows on the edges, and so it looks more real.

Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J) of the right side.

Go to ((Edit))-((Transform))-((Flip Vertical)).

Then adapt the perspective so that it looks this way.

Repeat the previous step in both sides of the pamphlet.

Select the 3 duplicated layers and press Ctrl + E to unify them in an independent layer.

Now create a ((Layer Mask)) by clicking the ((Add Layer Mask)). It is pointed with a red arrow in the following image.

Stand in the mask layer and select ((Gradient Tool)). Trace a linear gradient from white to black to create the reflection effect.

You can reduce the layer’s ((Opacity)) to 50% approximately.

This is the final image.
