Creating Casino Royale Theme in Photoshop

We will create the theme of the movie “Casino Royale”, movie that I really liked. In this tutorial we will draw the shape of James Bond and try to give it a vectorial touch. Then, by means of ((Gradient Tool)) and 2 images which you will be able to download. The results are very good, I hope you like it.

Open the image.

Select ((Pen Tool)) and trace the actor’s contour.

Press Ctrl + Enter to transform the trace into selection.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Fill it in with black.

Merge the layer you just filled in invisible. In order to do so, click the eye that appears next to the layer.

Now with ((Pen Tool)), draw the trace of the white shirt.

Press Ctrl + Enter to transform the trace into selection.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Fill in the selection with white.

Merge the shirt layer invisible.

Now trace the left side of the untied bun.

Now press Ctrl + Enter to transform the trace into selection.

Create a ((New Layer)).

Fill in the selection with white.

Merge this layer invisible.

Now trace the contour of the right side of the untied bun.

Create a ((New Layer)) and fill it in with black.

Merge all the layers visible.

You will have a partial result:

Create a ((New Layer)) and place it between the image and the actor’s contour. Take a look at the image below.

Stand in the layer, select ((Gradient Tool)), ((Linear Gradient)), and trace a vertical gradient as the one you see below, using: #931314 and #000000.

Open the following image in Photoshop. You can download it by clicking HERE.

Press Ctrl + A to select the whole image and Ctrl + C to copy it.

Go back to the document and paste (Ctrl + V) the background underneath the actor’s silhouette.

Reduce the ((Opacity)) to 15%.

Open the following image. You can download it by clicking HERE.

Select ((Magic Wand Tool)), ((Tolerance)) 20% and click the black area of the image to select it.

Invert the selection. ((Select))-((Inverse)).

Copy it (Ctrl + C).

Go back to the document and paste it (Ctrl + V).

Place it in the lower part of the document and reduce the ((Opacity)) to 40%.

Open the image with the title of the movie. You can download it by clicking this link: http://www.caminocreativo.com/images/casino_royale/casino-royale.jpg

Press Ctrl + A to select the entire image.

Copy it (Ctrl + C)………

….and paste it (Ctrl + V) into the document.

Finally change the layer style to ((Lighten)) to eliminate the black background.

Now the “Casino Royale” theme is created. See you soon.
