Creating an Undulated Texture
Tutorial in Basics, Effects, Goodies
I used this tutorial to create user bars backgrounds and sites’ layouts. It’s very simple and I want to share it with you since it could be very useful.
To begin, let’s create a Pattern. Open a new document (4×4px and transparent background).
Select ((Pencil Tool)), 1px , and black as the primary color. Draw a horizontal line as the one that you see below.
Then go to ((Edit))-((Define Pattern)), name it and save it.
You can close the document.
Now open a new document (500×500px and transparent background).
Fill in the background with #e70000. This is just an example, you can choose the color you like the most.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Go to ((Edit))-((Fill)). Select the Pattern you had saved.
From now on, we will work in the layer where the pattern was added.
Now go to ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Wave)). Use the following values.
After you do so, it will look like this.
Then ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Gaussean Blur)).
Finally, reduce the ((opacity)) to a 70%.
