Creating Abstract Storm

Let’s create an abstract storm. We will do it step by step applying different kinds of filters, such as: ((Lens Flare)), ((Chrome)), ((Twirl)). We will also modify the layer styles and adjust ((Hue/Saturation)).

Open a new document (600×400px and black background).

Apply ((Filter))-((Render))-((Lens Flare)).

Now go to ((Filter))-((Sketch))-((Chrome)).

Then ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Twirl)). (Angle: 550º).

Press Ctrl + J and duplicate the layer. Then change the layer style to ((Screen)).

Finally go to ((Image))-((Adjustments))-((Hue/Saturation)). Select “Colorize” and apply the following values.

This is how the storm will then look like.
