Creating a Security Logo Icon

This is another icon to add to the huge conllection that Design Owners and Camino Creativo have to offer. In this occasion I will show you how to create a security logo icon, applying a wide variety of ((Layer Styles)) such as: ((Inner Shadow)), ((Outer Glow)), ((Inner Glow)), ((Gradient Overlay)), ((Pattern Overlay)), and ((Stroke)).

Open a new document (400×400px and white background).

Create a ((New Layer)).

Select ((Pen Tool)) and trace the shield. Then fill it in with black.

Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Gradient Overlay)). The colors you need to use for the gradient are: #efe834 and #b90303.

Save the changes.

Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J).

Remove ((Gradient Overlay)).

With ((Move Tool)), move the layer upwards. Observe the following image.

Double clik the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Inner Shadow)).

((Bevel and Emboss)): Shadow Mode: #efe834 and Highlight Mode: #b90303.

((Gradient Overlay)). The colors you have to use are: #efe834 and #b90303.

Save the changes.

Duplicate the layer and remove the ((Layer Styles)) again.

Pressing ((Free Transform)) and Alt + Shift, reduce the shield proportionally from the center as the following image shows.

Apply the following ((Layer Styles)).

((Inner Shadow)).

((Outer Glow)).

((Inner Glow)).

((Gradient Overlay)). Use the colors: #8b5252 and #d8d8d8

Save the changes to save the result.

With a soft brush and light grey you can add some details, of course, in a new layer.

Duplicate the layer (Ctrl + J) again. Also remove ((Layer Styles)) and reduce it as shown in the following image.

Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).

((Bevel and Emboss)): Shadow Mode: #efe834 and Highlight Mode: #b90303.

((Gradient Overlay)).

((Pattern Overlay)).

((Stroke)).

Once you accept and save the changes, this will be the result.
