Creating a Football Fans Club Logo

This tutorial is for those who love the most amazing sport in history: football. In this tutorial we will create a logo for a Fans Club. In order to do so, we will use ((Rounded Rectangle Tool)), ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), ((Gradient Overlay)), layer styles, ((Shape Tool)), ((Layer Styles)) such as ((Inner Shadow)), and ((Color Overlay)). If you don’t create it, you will be offside!
Create a new document, 400×400px, and white background.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Choose #384402 as the foreground color.
Select ((Rounded Rectangle Tool)), radius: 5px, to draw a rectangle as the one you see below. Notice how it doesn’t occupy the whole document and you can still see some parts of the white area.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Now choose color #7e9219 as foreground.
Select ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)) and draw a selection as the one you see below.
Don’t deselect.
With the selection active, go to ((Select))-((Modify))-((Contract)): 15px.
Press delete.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Select ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) and draw a circle as the one you see below. Pres Alt + Shift so that the circle grows proportionally from the center.
Don’t deselect.
Then ((Select))-((Modify))-((Feather)): 30px.
Fill in the selection with color #d3e088.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Choose white as the foreground color.
Now with ((Shape Tool)) choose the rain shape that appears below. You need to take a look at the options bar in the superior side of the document.
With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)) and then with ((Select))-((Inverse)) eliminate the rays area.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Draw a black circle as the one you see below. Don’t forget to press Alt + Shift so that the circle grows proportionally from the center.
Draw another circular selection, stand in the black circle layer and press delete.
Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Inner Shadow)).
((Color Overlay)).
Accept the changes and see the results.
Download the PNG image of a ball by clking HERE.
Paste the football into the document.
Create the last ((New Layer)).
One of the last steps will be drawing a rectangular selection as the one you see below.
Then select ((Gradient Tool)) and trace a vertical linear gradient from white to transparent.
Finally change the layer style to ((Overlay)) and…done.
