Creating a Crystal Ball in Photoshop

By using some filters, we will create a crystal ball.

Open a new document (500×500px and transparent background).

Press D in order to reset the colors to b&w.

Go to menu ((Filter))-((Render))-((Clouds)).

Now go to ((Filter))-((Distort))-((Polar Coordinates)). Select ((Rectangular To Polar)).

Reduce the document size. ((Image))-((Image Size)).

With ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) stand inĀ  the center of the document and trace a circunference pressing and holding Alt + Shift so that it grows proportionally.

Then invert the selection. ((Select))-((Inverse)).

Press delete.

Now go to ((Image))-((Adjustments))-((Variations)). Click “More Blue” and click twice “More Cyan”.

Finally go to ((Filter))-((Render))-((Lens Flare)). Select “105 mm Prime” and place the cross in the left top side of the ball.

Finally, double click the layer to go to ((Blending Options)).

((Drop Shadow)).

This is the final result.
