Creating Glasses to a Turtle
To this funy cartoon, we will add glasses. In order to do so, we will use ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), ((Pen Tool)), ((Polygonal Lazo Tool)), and ((Layer Styles)).
Let’s work in this image. To download it, click HERE.
First, place the guides. Press Ctrl + R to activate the rules, then click and drag towards the document. Place the guides as shown below.
Select ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) and trace the point where both guides cross, and trace (pressing and holding Alt + Shift so that it grows proportionally from the center) a circle surrounding the eye.
Now with ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)), ((Subtract from selection)), trace an inner circle.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Fill it in with black.
Duplicate this layer (Ctrl + J) and, with ((Free Transform)) (Ctrl + T), adapt it to the other eye.
Then with ((Pen Tool)), trace a selection as the one you see below.
Press Ctrl + Enter to transform the selection.
Fill it in with black.
Select all the layers except for the background one and press Ctrl + E to unify it in a new layer.
Double click the layer to apply ((Layer Styles)).
((Bevel and Emboss)).
((Contour)).
Accept the changes to get this result.
Stand in the turtle layer and, with ((Burn Tool)), apply some small shadows under the glasses.
Create a ((New Layer)) and place it above the eye.
With ((Brush Tool)), ((Hardness)) 0%, add some more shadows to the new layer.
Then select ((Elliptical Marquee Tool)) to trace a circle as the one you see below.
Create a ((New Layer)) and place it under the mark’s layer.
Fill it in with white and reduce its ((Opacity)) to 20%.
Create a ((New Layer)) and reduce the ((Opacity)) to 20%.
Select ((Polygonal Lazo Tool)) and trace a reflection.
Fill it in with white.
Add a reflection, this time, smaller.
Ctrl + Click the layer to activate the selection and, in a ((New Layer)), trace a gradient from white to transparent and from top to bottom.
This is my result.
