Creating a Pattern from a Grass Graphic

I will show you how to create a Pattern from the image of grass. The grass image will serve as an example; you can use the image you want.

We will start from this image.

We will use ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)). From the options bar, select ((Fixed Size)) with the same length and width: 160px-160px.

Click the document and notice how the selection you have marked appears.

Now go to ((Edit))-((Copy)) (Ctrl + C), ((File))-((New)), Ctrl + N, and, when you are in the new document, press Ctrl + V (Paste).

Then, ((Filter))-((Other))-((Offset)). You will find the values in the following image.

Save the pattern. ((Edit))-((Define Pattern)).

To try the pattern, create a new document, 640×480px, and transparent background. Fill in the layer with white and double click it. The ((Blending Options)) window will be opened. Select ((Pattern Overlay)) and choose the one you just created which is generally located in the bottom. Click Ok.
