Classic Style Navigation Bar
This is a simple, yet attractive, navigation bar. It can be a useful resource when it comes to futures designs or for our website. If you follow the directions correctly, in less than 10 minutes you will have a beautifull navigation bar.
Open a new document (400×150px and transparent background).
Fill in the background with color #d8d1c4.
Now with ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), draw a selection as the one that appears in the image below.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Select ((Gradient Tool)), linear, and trace a gradient inside the selection using the following colors: #E6DED0 and #C4BA9A.
Create a ((New Layer)).
Select ((Line Tool)), 1px. In the superior base of the bar, draw two horizontal lines from side to side: one black, the other white.
In the inferior base, trace only one black line.
Then change the layer style to ((Soft Light)).
Create another ((New Layer)).
With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), draw a selection that occupies half of the bar. Take a look at the image below.
Fill it in with white.
To this layer, also change the style to ((Soft Light)) and reduce the ((opacity)) to 30%.
Now you will create the active area of one of the buttons.
With ((Rectangular Marquee Tool)), draw a selection as the one you see below and fill it in with black.
Do the same to this other layer. Change the layer style to ((Soft Light)), and reduce the ((opacity)) to 30%.
You just need to add the titles to the buttons.
Choose black as the primary color.
Select the font Times New Roman and write the title of the button with the area active.
Now apply a ((Drop Shadow)). ((Layer))-((Layer Style))-((Drop Shadow)).
Repeat the previous step in the other titles and…done!
