Tutorial in Basics, Effects, Goodies
I will show you how to create realistic clouds with a cool and interesting result.
Create a new document (800×600px).
Select ((Gradient Tool)) and choose #167dad as the primary color and #74cbe8 as secondary. Now you will trace a gradient from top to bottom.
Create a ((new layer)).
Press D and then X so that white is set as front color and black as nackground color.
Go to ((Filter))-((Render))-((Clouds)). Then ((Filter))-((Render))-((Difference Clouds)) and press Ctrl + F about 10 times to repeat the effect. It should be looking like this.
Duplicte the layer (Ctrl + J).
From now on we will work in the suplicated layer.
Go to ((Filter))-((Stylize))-((Extrude)) and apply the values shown below.
Now ((Filter))-((Blur))-((Gaussean Blur)) ((Radius)): 2px.
Finally, simply change the blending mode to both superior layers to ((Screen)). These great clouds will be the result.
